Hendrix College and the Clinton School of Public Service at the University of Arkansas announced Wednesday (June 12) a new partnership to prepare Hendrix students for careers as public service leaders through the Clinton School’s Master of Public Service degree program.

Under the agreement, Hendrix students and alumni with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher are guaranteed admission into the Clinton School’s Master of Public Service program and will receive a minimum of half-tuition scholarships.

Additional merit scholarships are available for qualified applicants and available scholarships will be reviewed annually by the Clinton School. The new program will be open to Hendrix students applying to the Clinton School’s Master of Public Service program beginning with the 2025-2026 academic year.

“Hendrix College and the Clinton School of Public Service share a mission to develop leaders who will change the world,” said Hendrix President Karen Petersen. “We are grateful to the Clinton School leadership for the chance to partner with them in this amazing opportunity for our students to further develop the knowledge, expertise, and skills they need to be effective leaders in the communities they serve.”

“We are thrilled to partner with Hendrix College to create opportunities for its talented graduates to continue their journeys as public service leaders at the Clinton School of Public Service,” said Clinton School Dean Victoria DeFrancesco Soto. “We appreciate President Petersen’s leadership in fostering this partnership. Through a blend of rigorous classroom learning and hands-on experience, we are equipping the next generation of impact-makers that will drive transformation in communities across Arkansas, the nation, and the world.”

Beyond the degree program partnership, both institutions said they will identify collaborative learning opportunities between the Hendrix Odyssey Program and the Clinton School’s Office of Field Service.

Hendrix will host Clinton School representatives on campus during the academic year to meet with interested students and faculty and staff advisors to promote the program.
