Errin Stanger, the longtime director of the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub, was officially named Thursday (May 2) as CEO of Providence Park, a housing initiative partnership with Pulaski County aimed at supporting chronically homeless individuals.

Inspired by the Community First! Village in Austin, Texas, Providence Park will eventually feature 400 tiny homes equipped with full support services — medical, mental and dental care — and opportunities for income generation. By addressing basic needs, the initiative seeks to enhance the quality of life, reduce societal costs, and cultivate a sense of belonging and stability for its residents.

“Founding Providence Park was driven by a deep desire to significantly impact the lives of those facing chronic homelessness in central Arkansas,” Stanger said. “After researching similar projects across the country, I was profoundly inspired. Providence Park is more than a housing project — it’s a beacon of hope, grace, and empowerment, a place where the homeless can find not just shelter but a community of support and opportunities for personal growth.”

Set on 50 acres, Providence Park’s initial phase will see the development of 100 homes by 2025. The community is designed to provide holistic support services, helping residents toward self-sufficiency. Emphasizing grace and second chances, the initiative aspires to establish a nurturing environment where individuals can heal, grow, and thrive.

The county is developing the project, but the management and oversight will transition to the selected 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization managed by Stanger.

A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Providence Park on May 14 during Judge Barry Hyde’s State of the County address. The public event will start at 10 a.m. at The Iron Horse Church, located at 12611 Chicot Road in Mabelvale.
