Little Rock-based utility Entergy Arkansas will give $660,000 to nonprofits as part of its Entergy Arkansas Bright Futures Campaign. Six nonprofits will each receive $110,000 as the utility marks its 110th anniversary.

“I cannot think of a more appropriate way to commemorate the last 110 years and look toward ‘Bright Futures’ for our customers and communities,” said Laura Landreaux, president and CEO of Entergy Arkansas. “Entergy Arkansas has been honored to serve for more than a century in our great state, and these grants highlight important partnerships and demonstrate the priority we place on being good corporate citizens by investing in our customers and the places we call home.”

Entergy Charitable Foundation will provide six grants to the following nonprofits:

  • Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance
  • Arkansas Community Foundation
  • Arkansas STEM Coalition
  • Women’s Foundation of Arkansas
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • The Nature Conservancy

“This funding is just the beginning for our ‘Bright Futures’ campaign and will serve as a powerful building block for our core focus areas as we look forward to many more years of powering life for our customers and communities,” Landreaux said.

In 2022, Entergy Arkansas provided $3.4 million in grants to more than 100 nonprofits and community organizations. The utility’s employees and retirees volunteered for more than 25,292 hours.

Entergy Arkansas provides electricity to about 730,000 customers in 63 counties. The utility is a subsidiary of New Orleans-based Entergy Corp.
