The Arkansas District Export Council (ARDEC) has opened its application process for international businesses with operations in Arkansas to be recognized for their achievements.

The 13th annual Governor’s Awards for Excellence in Global Trade will be held in October. Applications for nominees are due by 5pm on Friday, Aug. 18, 2023. There is no fee to apply.

According to ARDEC, all Arkansas-based companies actively selling in international markets are eligible to apply. Companies with facilities and employees in Arkansas that can provide export sales data from within the state are eligible to apply. Companies need not be headquartered in the state of Arkansas to apply.

This year, there will be a new award category. ARDEC will present an Export Service Provider Award to a unique, innovative Arkansas banker, logistics provider or customs broker who helps Arkansas companies be successful in exporting.

In completing the awards form, ARDEC asks that nominees show that activities of Arkansas-based employees led to an increase in exports.

Applications can be accessed here and should be sent to [email protected]. For additional questions, contact Max Avery, vice chair of ARDEC at [email protected].
