Sam’s Club hires PepsiCo exec as new chief people officer

Sam’s Club has announced the hiring of Christopher Shryock as its chief people officer. Shryock hails from PepsiCo where he has worked for more than 13 years.

“Christopher’s understanding of retail and innovation as well as the importance of Sam’s Club associates to our overall strategy makes him a great fit for our team,” noted a Sam’s Club statement.

Shryock has been based in Plano, Texas, serving as senior vice president of human resources for the company’s North American division since June. Prior to that, he was based in Geneva, Switzerland, for more than two years overseeing human resources and talent management in Europe and Sub Saharan Africa. His other work at PepsiCo included time spent in Dubai and New York.

He will be based in Bentonville at Sam’s Club headquarters.
