Former Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel is now a partner in a law firm created by the merger of three firms. The new firm, McDaniel, Wolff & Benca, PLLC, will be based in Little Rock, noted a Tuesday (Jan. 14) announcement.

McDaniel, Richardson & Calhoun, PLLC; Wolff & Ward, PLLC; and Benca & Johnston, PLLC, which announced plans in early 2018 to work together, are now under the McDaniel, Wolff & Benca umbrella.

“We seized on an incredible opportunity to merge our complementary practices and diverse expertise to establish a significant new presence in the Arkansas legal community,” McDaniel, a partner, said in the statement. “Our firm will provide sophisticated representation to individuals and businesses who need help in our complicated legal, regulatory and governmental system.”

The statement said the firm’s area of work includes tax planning, Attorney General investigations and government relations, criminal law, education law, family law, and real estate. In addition to McDaniel, the founding partners include Scott Richardson, Bart Calhoun, Rufus Wolff, Vincent Ward, Patrick Benca and Jessica Duncan Johnston. Additional attorneys joining the new firm include Jon Shirron and Lauren Collins.

“By coming together, this merger will generate the synergy to provide an even greater level of service across our practice areas,” said Wolff.

The newly merged firm is operating in a new two-story, 7,170-square-foot headquarters at the corner of West 4th St. and S. Pulaski Street in Little Rock. The building is located just two blocks from the State Capitol.

McDaniel is also involved in Natural State Wellness Enterprises of Jonesboro, which was one of five cultivation center applications chosen by Arkansas’ Medical Marijuana Commission.
