Encore Bank names new directors for bank and holding company

Little Rock-based Encore Bank and its holding company, Capital Bancshares, announced a new board of directors for both entities on Wednesday (Oct. 30).

The bank, which restructured earlier this year with new management and ownership as well as a new $50 million stock offering, has plans to expand in central, northwest and Northeast Arkansas and in Dallas and Nashville.

The new holding company board of directors for Capital Bancshares, Inc. includes:

Thomas Fuqua
Texarkana, AR
Texarkana Funeral Homes/Family Liberty Life Insurance Co.
Fuqua works alongside his brother to run eight funeral homes and three cemeteries throughout NE Texas and SW Arkansas, as well as a captive insurance company with over $35 million in assets under management.

Chris Johnson
Little Rock, AR
Senior Vice President and Principal Financial Officer, Dillard’s, Inc.
Chief Financial Officer, CDI Contractors, LLC
In addition to Johnson’s responsibilities to Dillard’s and CDI he also serves on numerous Board of Directors including Baptist Health Foundation, Easterseals Arkansas, and Chairman of the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce.
