Walmart,Tesla work to resolve the solar panel fire hazard

Walmart and Tesla have agreed to work together to resolve the legal complaint the retailer filed against Tesla subsidiary SolarCity last week. The complaint has been sealed by the New York State Supreme Court as the two sides work to reach a resolution.

In joint statements Friday (Aug. 23) the companies said they look forward to re-activating the panels once both sides are certain all concerns have been addressed.

“Together, we look forward to pursuing our mutual goal of a sustainable energy future,” the companies said in the joint statement. “Above all else, both companies want each and every system to operate reliably, efficiently, and safely.”

Walmart spokesman Randy Hargrove told Talk Business & Politics Walmart had nothing to add to the complaint. He did say “the deactivation of the solar energy products that are the focus of the complaint will have no impact on any company goals. They make up a small percentage of our total renewable energy load.”
