Memphis-based Sunstar Insurance Group’s Arkansas arm will merge with the Todd Agency of Little Rock, adding six employees with a combined 110 years of insurance industry experience.

“It’s a new day for us here at Sunstar,” said Andrew Meadors, CEO of Sunstar in Arkansas. “The family is growing, doubling in size, and adding capabilities and expertise that we didn’t have before.”

“We benefit each other very well,” said David Todd, whose agency has been in business for 35 years. “We do it all, but our primary business has been group benefits, individual medical and Medicare. Joining Sunstar gives our clients added areas of expertise in property and casualty insurance.”

The combined agency has just relocated to a new 7,000-square foot office in Kirkpatrick Plaza in Little Rock. Sunstar Arkansas now has 28 total employees with offices in Little Rock, Jonesboro, Helena, and Rogers.

“David and I quickly agreed that we were better together than separate,” said Meadors.

This is the fourth major expansion of Sunstar in Arkansas since Meadors joined the company in September of 2017.

Sunstar Insurance Group, based in Memphis, was founded in 2012 by Chairman and CEO David “Casey” Bowlin and has grown to become the 56th largest property and casualty insurance agency in the U.S. as ranked by the industry trade magazine, Insurance Journal.
