Pediatrics Plus announced last week its acquisition of Helping Hand Children’s Center in North Little Rock effective January 1, 2019. The new facility will be the sixth in the state for Pediatrics Plus, which also has locations in Arkadelphia, Conway, Little Rock, Russellville and Sherwood.

“When making the decision to retire after 30 years, it was very important to us to find a provider who could continue the Helping Hand legacy and build on our efforts,” said owners Johnny and Julia Washburn. “We are confident Pediatrics Plus will be a great fit and will continue to provide quality services to the children.”

Helping Hand has provided occupational, physical and speech therapy to children since 1990. It added a preschool in 1998. Its 20,000-square-foot facility is located at 4901 Northshore Drive in North Little Rock. The location will continue to serve children through its developmental preschool, as well as its outpatient occupational, physical, speech therapy and ABA services.

“Pediatrics Plus is excited to join the Maumelle business community and be given the chance to serve even more children in central Arkansas,” said Amy Denton, co-owner of Pediatrics Plus. “We’re looking forward to renovating a portion of the facility to accommodate additional classrooms, an innovative Activities of Daily Living suite, playground and equipment.”

Pediatrics Plus is a specialized pediatric healthcare provider offering a variety of services for children with special needs through evidence-based therapeutic and developmental services; diagnostic services; and innovative facilities with specialized equipment, family support and community investment.
