Jet.com to open new Bronx fulfillment center for grocery delivery

Jet.com said Tuesday (July 10) it plans to open a new fulfillment center in the Bronx this fall as it seeks to offer same-day and next-day grocery delivery to its customer base in New York and surrounding boroughs. This new center will add about 100 new jobs to the area.
The company said the center is an important milestone as it builds momentum with urban customers in larger metropolitan areas such as New York. Jet is also focused on enhancing shopping through a unique assortment of local favorites as well as basic staples.
The Bronx fulfillment center will exclusively house Jet.com inventory which includes groceries, everyday essentials and select general merchandise. The company will also use Parcel to support its last mile delivery out of this location.
Jet said it will continue to work with local and iconic New York brands through its NY Favorites Shop offering an assortment from Big Gay Ice Cream, Roberta’s, The Meatball Shop and more. Jet President Simon Belsham said recently the company is working to enhance the local shopping experience for New Yorkers and this will likely be replicated in other urban cities.
