Department of Arkansas Heritage to host grant workshop for small museums

The Department of Arkansas Heritage will host a panel discussion and workshop on small museum management and resources on March 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the DAH’s Diamond Room at 1100 North St. in Little Rock.

The workshop will cover DAH’s new small museum grant application process. Grants of up to $2,500 are available to Arkansas’s small history museums, historical societies, historic sites and military museums that have an annual operating budget of $250,000 or less. The workshop will be led by DAH grants manager Debra Fithen. A panel of DAH division directors will share experience regarding museum and historical resource management issues.

Panelists are Christina Shutt of the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, Swannee Bennett of the Historic Arkansas Museum, Bill Gatewood of Old State House Museum, Kyle Miller of Delta Cultural Center and Scott Kaufman of the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program
