Andy Goodman, who is chief legislative aide to the president of the Arkansas State Senate, will join Gov. Asa Hutchinson’s staff as Director of Policy Coordination and Legislative Outreach on January 2, 2018.

“During his years with the Arkansas Senate, Andy Goodman proved to be a consummate consensus builder who quickly understands issues and offers workable solutions,” Hutchinson said. “I am pleased that he has agreed to join my staff. His experience and sound judgment will be an enormous asset to Arkansas as we draw up the blueprint to further streamline state government on behalf of all Arkansans.”

Goodman is a graduate of Conway High School and earned a Bachelors of Business Administration, Marketing, from Harding University in 2004. In his role with Senate President Jonathan Dismang, he advised legislators about pending legislation and tracked it through the Senate.

Before he joined Dismang’s staff, Goodman was director of real estate for the State Lands Commission.

“I am honored and excited to work for Governor Hutchinson,” Goodman said. “I am grateful to Senator Dismang for the experience I have gained while working with the General Assembly. I hope to use that experience to help facilitate clear communication between legislators and the governor’s office, and to continue to help promote good policy.”

Goodman and his wife, Chelsea, and their four children live in Cabot.
