Plans have been submitted for a 2,000-SF Dunkin’ Donuts on Elm Springs Road in Springdale.

The restaurant would be built on .79 acres east of Whataburger and include a drive through, plans show.

Jody Goehring of Texas, partner for the local Dunkin’ Donuts franchise group Hyde Park Ventures LLC, said the restaurant will open in spring 2017.

“The new Springdale location on Elm Springs Road will feature the newest cutting edge store exterior design and interior layout from Dunkin’ Donuts that we’re excited to bring to the community,” he said.

Dunkin’ Donuts has one Springdale location, inside a Harps Food Store at U.S. Highway 412 and Gutensohn Road.

“We have a fantastic partnership with Harps, and the store does well for us,” Goehring said. “We see the new location as supplementary to the already great demand from our customers in the Springdale area.”

Plans for the new restaurant will come before the Springdale Planning Commission Tuesday (Oct. 4).

In April, Hyde Park Ventures purchased four Dunkin’ Donuts locations in Northwest Arkansas, with plans to build four new restaurants in the area. The company, which is led by Goerhing and Greg Vasey of Massachusetts, acquired locations in Fort Smith, Springdale, Fayetteville and Bentonville.

“We are actively in the market looking for additional opportunities from Dunkin’ between Bella Vista and Fort Smith,” Goehring said. “We expect to exceed our development agreement in the territory beyond our commitment of eight total stores.”

The company also operates restaurant franchises in Massachusetts and Vermont.

Dunkin’ Donuts was founded in 1950 and has more than 11,300 restaurants worldwide.
