8th & Walton Opens Office in Canada

8th & Walton, a Bentonville-based education company for the consumer packaged goods industry, has opened a branch in Mississauga, Ontario.

The new office is located near the Wal-Mart Stores Inc. headquarters for Canada and will cater to the needs of suppliers to Walmart Canada through advisory services and Retail Link training, according to a press release from 8th & Walton.

Jeff Clapper, 8th & Walton president and CEO, said the classes will be geared specifically toward Canadian businesses, with guidance available for French-speaking suppliers.

“By hiring staff that knows Canada and Walmart Canada thoroughly and opening an office in Mississauga, our team’s commitment to Canada is clear,” Clapper said, according to the press release.

John Lawrence is vice president of operations for the Canadian office.

“Our team is solely focused on providing Canada-specific solutions that drive businesses forward, and we are very much looking to providing exceptional service to the supplier community,” Lawrence said in the press release.

Lawrence worked at Walmart for 24 years, most recently as director of corporate responsibility for Walmart Canada, according to the press release.
