Naturals Developing New Jersey, Cap, 10th Season Logo For 2017
The Northwest Arkansas Naturals will celebrate their 10th season in Springdale in 2017, and fans can expect to see Arvest Ballpark looking and feeling as nice as it did when it opened in 2008, said Justin Cole, the team’s general manager.
Plans for next season are still in development, but some changes fans will see include a logo commemorating the team’s 10th season, and a new cap and jersey. The team’s traditional home white jersey and grey jersey for away games will remain while the new jersey will replace one that’s been an homage to the Kansas City Royals. The Naturals are the Double-A Texas League affiliate of the Royals, the 2015 World Series champions. The new jersey will be the third change in the team’s alternate jersey.
Also next season, the team will focus on its history by bringing in key stakeholders to the ballpark and showing videos of former players who’ve gone on to the big leagues. The team will be telling their stories throughout the season using the ballpark’s new video board.
At 16.8 feet tall by 66 feet wide, the high-definition video board took the “game presentation to a whole new level” this season, Cole said. During games, it’s allowed fans to better follow along, with the larger screen offering more room to show player statistics.
While fans shouldn’t expect to see major changes in the ballpark for the 10th season, they can come to experience the nostalgia and history of a ballpark that will look and feel as it did when it first opened.
The Naturals will conclude their regular season at Arvest Ballpark on Sept. 5, wrapping up a three-game series against the Arkansas Travelers.
