Rollin Ford, executive vice president and chief administrative officer for Wal-Mart Stores Inc., will be the featured speaker at the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal‘s 20th annual Forty Under 40 event.

The luncheon will be held Tuesday, Aug. 16, at the John Q. Hammons Convention Center in Rogers. It is sponsored by Intrust Bank.

Ford, who joined Walmart in 1983 and was appointed to his current job in 2012, will give the keynote speech and also meet privately with this year’s honorees prior to the luncheon.

The Business Journal annually honors 40 individuals under the age of 40 who were nominated as best in class by their peers in all industries.

This year’s class will be honored in the Business Journal‘s Aug. 15 issue.

Ford’s previous position was executive vice president and chief information officer for Walmart, overseeing the company’s strategic outlook and execution of all applications and infrastructure worldwide. He led the company’s global information systems division through a redesign of tools and capability as the company quickly grew in many markets around the world.

Prior to that, he was executive vice president of logistics and supply chain, leading the division through a very high growth period for the company, advancing the general merchandise capability and developing the grocery supply chain for the company.

Ford serves on the boards of directors for John Brown University and Mercy Health System of Northwest Arkansas.
