Premier Concepts LLC of Bentonville has donated $1 million toward the construction of the Arkansas Children’s Hospital campus in Springdale.

The gift will be distributed to the project over the next five years, according to an ACH news release.

“Premier Concepts is delighted to give to Arkansas Children’s Northwest,” Premier Concepts CEO Darren Horton said in a statement. “For our team, Premier Concepts is more than a business, we are a family. As a company, and family, we feel led to give to a project that supports the 200,000 children in the greater northwest Arkansas area. We also want to encourage other businesses to make a gift that’s meaningful to them. We believe together, our community can give back in a big way. Improving the health of children in northwest Arkansas is important.”

Premier Concepts provides nationwide sales, analytics and merchandising services to the vendor community.

To date, the Arkansas Children’s Northwest campus has received $28.5 million in pledged support from businesses and families in Northwest Arkansas.

“We are grateful to Premier Concepts and their generous gift to the construction of Arkansas Children’s Northwest,” Arkansas Children’s Hospital Foundation president Fred Scarborough said in the release. “Their dedication to improving the health of children in Arkansas is tremendous and we are proud to have them join the caring community.”

ACH is building a 233,613-SF hospital campus on 37 acres across the street from Arvest Ballpark in Springdale.

The hospital is scheduled to open in January 2018. It will include 24 inpatient beds, 30 emergency department rooms, five operating rooms and 30 clinic rooms. The campus will also include walking trails, gardens and a helipad and refueling station.

The general contractor for the construction project is Nabholz Construction Corp. of Conway. FKP Architects of Houston, Texas, and Polk Stanley Wilcox Architects of Little Rock/Fayetteville are leading the design.
