Walton Family Foundation officials announced Wednesday the hiring of Kyle Peterson as the philanthropic organization’s new executive director.
Peterson will start in September. He is currently a managing partner and board member of the nonprofit consulting firm FSG (formerly Foundation Strategy Group) of Boston.
He succeeds Buddy Philpot, who announced 10 months ago he was resigning and moving to Walton Enterprises.
Grantmaking from the WFF has grown from $58 million in 2000 to grants totaling nearly $375 million in 2015. This year the foundation announced plans to make grants of more than $2 billion through 2020.
