Bryan Barnhouse joins Arkansas Research Alliance

Bryan Barnhouse has joined the Arkansas Research Alliance (ARA) as vice president. Barnhouse will be based in Little Rock and will initially focus on the growing partnership between ARA and the federal laboratory, the National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR) at Jefferson, Arkansas.
He will also be actively involved with other ARA programs like the ARA Scholars and the ARA Fellows programs.
“We are pleased to expand the ARA team with someone of Bryan’s caliber,” said Jerry Adams, ARA president and CEO. “His experience with NCTR and with economic development will be crucial to helping advance ARA’s mission.”
Barnhouse was most recently the economic director for Economic Development Alliance of Jefferson County where he directed business recruitment and retention, and led programs that re-oriented the research and curriculum of higher education institutions to match corporate needs.
Earlier in his career, Barnhouse managed the promotion of industrial recruitment from Asia and global trade and export development for the Arkansas Economic Development Commission.
“I’m excited about joining ARA and look forward to the opportunity to connect the great state of Arkansas’ scientists and researchers to each other and to the business community,” said Barnhouse.
Barnhouse attended the University of Southern California and earned a master’s degree in public administration with an emphasis on intergovernmental management and a bachelor’s degree in international relations.
The Arkansas Research Alliance (ARA) was founded in 2008 as a 501(c)3 organization to coordinate Arkansas research universities and CEOs from across the state.
