More than 100 people attended a celebration to honor the 2016 Fast 15 class at the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House on the University of Arkansas campus May 10.

Friends, family and colleagues of the 15 honorees applauded as the Northwest Arkansas Business Journal formally recognized the class of business owners, designers, an accountant, an attorney, a banker, an inventor, a marketing manager, a nonprofit executive director, a recruiter and a salesman.

Jeff Clapper, chief executive officer of retail education company 8th & Walton in Bentonville, was the featured speaker.

Clapper spoke about success and failure and how he attained the previous and overcame the latter throughout his career. Clapper was a 2015 member of the Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 class.

The Business Journal editorial staff selected the 2016 Fast 15 class. Colleagues nominated Northwest Arkansas residents who have been quick to make great strides in their careers before turning 30.

Honorees are Alex Blass, Jessica Boyd, Chris Brown, Hannah Cicioni, Katie Eaves, Cody Few, Patrick Grace, Caleb Khazoyan, Zane Ludwick, Cameron Magee, Claire Meadors, Will Roth, Stephen Spicer, Lauren Stokes and Corey Thompson.

Profiles of each honoree were included in the May 9 issue.

Business Journal staff hosted the event, sponsored by United Bank of Springdale.

Nominations are open for the 2017 Fast 15 class at www.nwabusiness
