Washington Regional Turns Dirt on New Facility

Washington Regional Medical System officials broke ground Thursday on a 66,000-SF building in Fayetteville.
The construction area is at the corner of Bob Younkin Drive and Appleby Road, a 5.9-acre site across the street from the hospital campus.
The four-story building will accommodate a variety of healthcare services, according to a hospital news release. Some of those include urgent care, family practice, internal medicine, urology, endocrinology and gynecologic oncology.
The approved budget for the project is $19 million, according to WRMS spokeswoman Gina Maddox. The facility will be built by Little Rock-based CDI Contractors and was designed by Key Architecture Inc. of Fayetteville.
WRMS bought the land last summer for $4.3 million, equal to $16.64 per SF.
The land purchase was an all-cash transaction. Billingsley Family LP, led by Boyce Billingsley, was the previous owner of the property.
WRMS is also in the middle of a $60 million expansion project to build a 100,000-SF, five-story tower on the west side of its hospital campus in Fayetteville, adjoining the existing Johnelle Hunt Women’s Center.
