Ryan Scott came from northeast Arkansas to the University of Arkansas undecided on a career path.

It’s not difficult for him to explain what ultimately led him to the legal profession.

“I wanted to do something that interested me, and I always thought law was very interesting,” he said.

After eight years in Fayetteville, the Pocahontas native emerged a cum laude graduate with a double major in political science and communications (2004), a master’s degree in business administration (2005) and a juris doctorate (2008).

He joined Bailey and Oliver as a law clerk while finishing up law school. Today, his practice centers on developing, evaluating and litigating catastrophic personal injury cases.

In that role, he led a trial team that won the largest, out-of-court settlement involving 18-wheeler negligence in state history.

“I am really proud of the fact that we have earned a reputation that allows
us to work on some of the most complex injury cases in the state,” Scott said. “That’s because we’ve had success.”

Scott, a married father of three, said he has about 25 open cases at present. Having a small (by comparison) caseload is something he enjoys about his practice.

“We really get to know the clients and by keeping it small, we can focus on doing the absolute best for a very small number of people,” he said.

Scott is an active member of the Rogers Rotary Club and is a leader in the Rogers Youth Baseball organization. He’s also a newly minted board member of the nonprofit Sunshine School & Development Center, also in Rogers.
