BNSF Logistics on Dec. 3 officially opened a new office in west Springdale.

The 30,000-SF, state-of-the-art facility combines the operations of two, separate former locations on South Thompson Street and serves as domestic headquarters for the company, according to a press release.

The site employs 185 people, including numerous recent hires, and has the capacity to eventually support 225 more.

“BNSFL is a well-known, international company that has a large economic impact on our community,” Perry Webb, president/CEO of the Springdale Chamber of Commerce, said in the press release. “We are happy to have them join this vibrant, growing part of our city, and we are glad to be part of the opening ceremony for this beautiful facility.”

The multimodal firm has 40 offices throughout North America. Springdale operations will primarily focus on trucking and rail, and the new facility will also house the company’s corporate information technology and human resources teams.

“We are thrilled with our new space and excited to be part of this growing area,” Dan Curtis, chief operating officer of BNSFL, said in the release. “This top-notch facility and prime location will help our team continue to provide the reliable, efficient service our customers have come to expect.”

The facility is located at 2710 S. 48th St., near the Tyson Recreational Complex and across Interstate 49 from Arvest Ballpark and the future local campuses of Arkansas Children’s Hospital and Northwest Arkansas Community College.

Local commercial real estate firm Sage Partners worked with the company to select and acquire the space.

“BNSFL is a dynamic, growing company, and they had several specific needs for the new location, including access to Interstate 49 and being near many amenities,” Marshall Saviers, a partner with Sage, said in the press release. “Our team was excited to help them locate and select this fantastic site, in one of the fastest-growing corridors in the state.”
