Air Travel Up In NWA, Down In Central Arkansas

Air travel in Northwest Arkansas was up in August, but down in Little Rock.

The number of passengers taking flights in and out of Little Rock National Airport was down 1.35% compared to August 2014. A total of 176,115 passengers boarded flights or landed in August. Travelers for all of 2015 are down 6.66% compared to the first eight months of last year.

In Northwest Arkansas, 118,445 passengers took flights in or out of Highfill in August, up 1.17% compared to August 2014. Travelers to date in 2015 are up 1.32% at Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport compared to the same time last year.

Little Rock National continues to serve more travelers overall. LIT has seen 1,312,351 people on flights so far in 2015 compared to 869,158 passengers at XNA during the same time.
