A commercial building near one of Springdale’s busiest intersections recently sold, and a new tenant is on the way.

George’s Inc. of Springdale is the new owner of the two-building development at 901 W. Robinson Ave. near the intersection with South Thompson Street. It happens to sit across the street from the poultry company’s headquarters.

The price? $1.2 million. And that was probably a good deal, considering the previous owner was C.L. George & Sons LP, a partnership made of George’s chairman Gary George and his sister, Cathy (George) Evans.

An informed source tells Whispers the two buildings (totaling 33,140 SF) on the 5.76-acre property are currently being reconfigured to become an employment center for George’s, a centralized location for the company to manage all its human resource services.

As we understand it, George’s currently handles those duties at multiple locations.

The property was most recently occupied by SPEC Building Materials Corp. of Kanas City.

George’s should move into the space this fall.
