Less than a year after its $8.5 billion purchase of The Hillshire Brands Co. was approved, we’ve noticed that Tyson Foods Inc. has undergone some further tweaking at the top.

Several members of the executive leadership team have taken on new or additional responsibilities, according to the company’s website:

• Andy Callahan, president of retail packaged brands, is now responsible for pet products.

• Sally Grimes is now president of international business, in addition to her former role of chief global growth officer. Grimes, incidentally, is on the cover of the June issue of industry magazine Meat & Poultry.

• Tom Hayes is now responsible for all retail sales as chief commercial officer and president of foodservice.

• Donnie King, who joined Tyson in 1982, has also added to his responsibilities as president of North American operations.

Callahan, Grimes and Hayes were all Hillshire Brands executives recruited to stay on as members of the executive leadership team after the acquisition.

Tyson has kept open Hillshire’s former Chicago headquarters.
