The Northwest Arkansas Business Journal is launching a new awards program to honor outstanding executives in the C-suite.

The inaugural C-Suite Awards will recognize 10 senior-level executives on Oct. 13 at 21c Museum Hotel in downtown Bentonville.

The luncheon awards program will begin at 11:30 a.m. and is sponsored by Mitchell, Williams, Selig, Gates & Woodyard PLLC.

Each of the 10 honorees will be invited to the stage to receive an award and say a few words from the podium.

The honorees will also be profiled in the Oct. 12 issue of the Business Journal.

“For the last few years, I have been hearing from the business community that there is life after the Forty Under 40,” said Rob Gutteridge, CEO and publisher of Gray Matters LLC, the parent company of the Business Journal. “I believe it is time that we recognize outstanding C-Level leadership and give credit to those individuals who have helped form the business landscape we enjoy today.

“I am very hopeful this award will be well received, but we need your help, so please nominate your leaders today.”

The C-Suite Awards program is the second recognition program introduced this year by the Business Journal, joining the Women In Business feature (published June 22), recognizing outstanding Northwest Arkansas female executives and business owners.

Gray Matters also hosts annual events for best-in-class professionals — Forty Under 40 and Fast 15 — as well as the A-List, an event designed to honor excellence in the residential real estate industry.

Any executive in the following positions at a for-profit or nonprofit Northwest Arkansas company may be nominated for the C-Suite Awards:

  • Chief Executive Officer
  • Chief Financial Officer
  • Chief Operating Officer
  • Chief Information or Technology Officer
  • Chief Marketing Officer
  • Chief HR Officer

What makes a top C-Suite executive? The Business Journal staff will choose the 10 honorees based solely on the information provided in the nomination forms. A variety of qualities will be considered, including contribution to company success, civic involvement and career achievement.

The deadline to nominate is Friday, Aug. 21, at 5 p.m.
