SHAWNIE CARRIER NAMED INTERIM LEADER OF ASU DELTA CENTER
Shawnie Carrier, who also serves as chief of staff at Arkansas State University, was named interim leader of the Arkansas State University Delta Center for Economic Development. Carrier succeeds Alan McVey, who resigned Friday after serving in the role since 2006.

Started in 1989, the Delta Center provides technical assistance, applied research, and guidance for business development across the region. Along with supporting entrepreneurial efforts in the private sector through research studies, economic impact analysis, and feasibility studies, the Delta Center provides professional and workforce development through online and in-house classes. ROCKEFELLER FOUNDATION INVESTS IN EAST INITIATIVE, INNOVATION HUB
The Winthrop Rockefeller Foundation has granted the EAST Initiative and the Arkansas Regional Innovation Hub $35,000 to support and encourage entrepreneurship in Central Arkansas.

The matching grant, in cooperation with a recent donation of the same amount from AT&T, will assist with the procurement and setup of technology and equipment to be used in the EAST STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) lab, and provide technical training sessions for students and the community.
