The finish line is finally in sight for Bentonville’s newest hotel on Southeast Walton Boulevard near Rainbow Curve.

Four Points by Sheraton Bentonville, formerly the Clarion Inn & Convention Center, has an official opening date of March 19, according to the website of its management company, Starwood Hotels.

Kunal Mody, a partner in the Little Rock-based Sree Akshar Inc. that owns the 105-room property, confirmed the opening, and added that the date could even be moved up a few weeks.

“We shall see about that, but we’re finally there,” he told Whispers. “The renovation is complete.”

Sree Akshar — which also owns a handful of hotels in the Little Rock/Jacksonville area, mostly Best Westerns and Comfort Inns — bought the Clarion and neighboring Sleep Inn in the spring of 2012 for $3.3 million, a deal that netted a combined 208 rooms and 10 acres.

The two properties were shuttered in September 2011. The Sleep Inn was re-branded as a Motel 6 and re-opened March 26, 2012.

The former Clarion has been in a state of renovation, seemingly, ever since.

Mody said Josh Morey (general manager) and Paige Smith (sales director) are leading the management team at the Four Points, which will also have a Joe’s Italian occupying the former Boston Pizza restaurant space attached to the hotel.

Mody was unsure when the restaurant would open.
