Longtime University of Arkansas supporters Bill and LeAnn Underwood of Fayetteville have donated $250,000 to establish an honors faculty fellow endowment in the Sam M. Walton College of Business.

The Bill and LeAnn Underwood Honors Faculty Fellow Endowment will be used to support the faculty member leading the honors colloquium courses in the Walton College.

Both are UA alumni, and Bill Underwood founded Dickson Street business Underwood’s Fine Jewelers in 1957.

“I feel honored that we can contribute,” said Underwood, who was recognized in 2004 by Walton College as Entrepreneur of the Year. “The university was a significant part of my background. Everything I’ve accomplished is because of my time in the Walton College. We’re honored to know that our gift will impact students who are working their way through business school.”
