Report: Grubss Adding Fort Smith Location in 2015

Fayetteville-based restaurant chain Grub’s Bar & Grille is expanding to the River Valley.
According to a report published Friday by the Southwest Times Record, Grub’s will lease space in a building at 8302 Phoenix Ave., previously occupied by MarketPlace Grill.
The building, according to the report, recently sold for $1.4 million to 8302 Phoenix LLC, which is led by John D. Alford of Fort Smith.
Grubs Bar & Grille, owned by Matt Christie, has two locations in Fayetteville and one in Rogers.
The Fayetteville stores — at 220 N. West Ave. and 3467 N. Shiloh Drive — combined for $3.04 million in sales in 2013, according to data provided by the Fayetteville Advertising & Promotions Commission, which collects a 1 percent tax on prepared foods and non-alcoholic beverages.
That total reflects an 8.1 percent increase from sales of $2.81 million in 2012.
