Realtor Board Approves Construction of New Facility

The members of the Northwest Arkansas Board of Realtors (NABOR) recently voted to approve construction of a centralized office facility and event center on Goad Springs Road in Lowell west of Interstate 49.

Kim Minor, broker and owner of RE/MAX Real Estate Results of Bentonville and president of NABOR, said the issue was decisively approved Sept. 4 at the board’s monthly membership meeting at the Springdale Holiday Inn & Convention Center.

“It was a voice vote and it was an overwhelming yes,” she said.

Minor said a centralized facility has been a goal of NABOR since 2012 after it was formed by the merger of the region’s three main real estate boards.

The Bentonville-Bella Vista Board of Realtors, Rogers Board of Realtors and Washington County-based Metro Area Board of Realtors voted in January 2012 to merge into one organization, which today has nearly 1,800 members.

NABOR bought the four-acre Goad Springs property from Evelyn and Jackie Bowen in August 2013 for $280,000.

The single-story facility is a little over 10,000 SF and will be built by Fayetteville contractor CR Crawford Construction.

Fayetteville architect Kim Fugitt, a licensed Realtor and NABOR member, designed the building, which will include offices for the Arkansas Regional MLS Inc. (now at 106 N. Bloomington St. in Lowell) and NABOR board of directors, as well as classroom and meeting space.

Minor said NABOR is committing $2 million to the project. There are four lenders competing for the construction loan, she said.

“All that’s left to do is finalize that [construction] loan,” Minor said. “Our plans are done and we are ready to start building.”

The construction should be finished late next spring.
