Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has struck a $2.5 million deal to have its name on the new Arkansas Music Pavilion under construction near Interstate 540 in Rogers, according to a report from local CBS television affiliate KFSM-TV, Channel 5.

The agreement is for 10 years, according to the report. Construction of the music venue, which will be known as the Walmart AMP, is scheduled to be complete by June.

In May, members of the Walton Arts Center Council approved building a permanent location for the AMP in Rogers.

The AMP has been a WAC venue since February 2011 and was most recently at the Washington Co. Fairgrounds, a backup location to salvage the 2012 season.
