Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mike Ross released his second TV ad of 2014, a biographical spot that touts his faith, family values, NRA rating and ties to popular Gov. Mike Beebe.

The ad, which is running in rotation with a previously released ad statewide on cable and broadcast stations, features photos of Ross in a variety of settings.

“Mike Ross has never been on the ballot in three-fourths of the state, so this new ad will help us introduce Mike to those voters,” said Jarrod Yates, Ross for Governor campaign manager. “We know that the more voters hear about Mike and the more they learn about his Arkansas story of hard work, faith and family, the more they like and support him. Among those voters who know both Mike Ross and Asa Hutchinson, Mike leads by 9 points. So, as Mike continues to travel the state introducing himself to voters and sharing his positive vision for Arkansas’s future, this ad will help sustain the momentum we are already seeing around the state.”

Ross will face the winner of the Republican primary, which includes former Congressman Asa Hutchinson, Curtis Coleman, and Rep. Debra Hobbs (R-Rogers).

Earlier on Wednesday, Ross disclosed that he raised $550,000 in the fourth quarter of 2013 and has $2.5 million cash-on-hand entering the year. His expected rival, Hutchinson, reported raising $445,000 and has $1.3 million cash-on-hand.
