Dreeszens Season
Christmas came early for Lisa Dreeszen, the longtime girlfriend of deceased developer and courtroom tough guy Gary Combs.
Dreeszen, a beneficiary listed in Combs’ will, last summer was dropped as a defendant from a big civil suit by First State Bank of Lonoke against Combs’ estate, and shortly before Christmas, was allowed to wash her hands of Combs’ messy probate case.
According to documents on file at the Washington County Courthouse, Dreeszen was able to shed the probate case by paying a settlement of only $15,000 — due in large part to the fact that the dispute between she and First State had been resolved. According to court documents, the $15,000 settlement would be paid into the Combs estate, and ultimately into the hands of one of the many creditors that had lodged claims against Combs, who died in Chula Vista, Calif., in August 2012.
Keep in mind, the claim made against Dreeszen by First State was that she used “fraudulent transfer” and “civil conspiracy” to take control of Combs’ Confederate Hellcat motorcycle, a Honda Valkyrie Rune motorcycle, a BMW Adventure Street motorcycle and a Porsche 911 Turbo.
Whispers is sure that being off the hook on that accusation is a relief and that those vehicles cost quite a bit more than $15,000.
Merry Christmas, Ms. Dreeszen.
