The National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) has been targeting Sen. Mark Pryor (D) throughout the holiday commercial season with an ad complaining about the new federal health care law.

The NFIB ad features John Parke, a long-time GOP executive committee member and past Republican legislative candidate, who is a part-owner of Democrat Printing and Lithography, a Little Rock-based printing company (which has been a longtime printer of Talk Business’ magazine, fyi).

In the commercial, Parke says that his insurance premiums are rising by double digits in 2014 due to Obamacare.

“What Obamacare means for Arkansas small businesses is tough choices,” Parke proclaims. “The mandates, the increased costs, the increased taxes – our premiums are increasing 19% next year.”

A narrator completes the spot saying, “Tell Sen. Mark Pryor that Obamacare is broken and to stand up for Arkansas’ small businesses and workers.”

Pryor, who is being challenged for re-election in 2014 by Cong. Tom Cotton (R), supported the federal health care overhaul.

Talk Business sources say as much as $500,000 will be spent airing the ad statewide on broadcast and cable television in the coming weeks.
