Arkansas Democrat-Gazette columnist John Brummett and GOP political strategist Bill Vickery joined the KARK Capitol View crew for a look back at politics in 2013.

From AG Dustin McDaniel’s exit from the Governor’s race to State Treasurer Martha Shoffner’s pie box scandal to the Mayflower oil spill and the heated races for Arkansas Governor and U.S. Senator, 2013 was filled with unexpected developments.  You can view their full takes on the year’s events in the video interview below.

In 2014, Vickery sees more Republican gains, especially in the major races.

“Republicans in a clean sweep in 2014 – it will be a big year,” he said.

“Wrong,” replied Brummett. He predicts that Democrat Mike Ross will be the next Arkansas Governor.

“Mike Ross gets a higher percentage of the vote than Asa Hutchinson and Mark Pryor,” Brummett said.
