The Illinois River Watershed Partnership is hosting its second annual “Restoration of Our Rivers” Conference, providing expertise and training in water-quality and stormwater management to help restore and protect rivers in Northwest Arkansas and across the United States.

The conference will be held at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art on Thursday and Friday, Oct. 3-4. It features experts in the areas of water quality, sustainable communities and the Clean Water Act, as well as pre-conference workshops and professional accreditation courses.

Dr. Delia Haak, executive director of the Illinois River Watershed Partnership, said attendees will learn practical and innovative methods and techniques to restore and protect water quality, and how such initiatives can positively affect public awareness and improve the economic vitality of the region.

“Our focus is on better understanding the implications of water quality and urban stormwater management for a variety of land uses, including urban and mixed, residential, agricultural, parks, recreation and conservation,” Haak said.
