About the Organization…..
On June 15th, Shane Bailey, 25 year old son of Don & Terri Bailey, passed away unexpectedly. He left a legacy of original music, poetry, & creative projects. In honor of that legacy, The Shane Bailey Memorial Music Society has been formed. This is a non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide funding, education, and other opportunities to help foster creative music & artistic expression. It is geared toward helping young people (teens & 20s) develop & hone their musical skills. The organization will award scholarships and instruments, and offer clinics, master classes, open forums for song writers-composers-poets, a guest speaker series, performances, and more. The organization will be governed by a Board of Directors & an Advisory Board.
About the Inaugural Event…..
The organization’s first event will be The Shane Bailey Memorial Inaugural Bash. It will be held on Friday, September 6th, at Neumeier’s Rib Room from 5:30 pm ‘til midnight. This event will showcase a wide variety of local entertainment. Here’s the line-up:
After 5 Jazz – Cool Jazz Standards
Larry B – Flashy show of Motown hits
Don Bailey & Friends – Featuring several “local stars”
The Linnie Hice Trio – Playing what Linnie calls “Blues Rock on steroids
The Brandon Butler Band – Classic & Contemporary Country at its best
The Chris Cameron Band – Classic Blues & Classic Rock that sizzles!
Oreo Blue – High voltage Blues that’ll rock your world!
What a night! Some of the best musicians anywhere will be coming together for a worthy cause.
Admission: $10.00 suggested donation. Note: 100% of the donations/contributions will go to The Shane Bailey Memorial Music Society.
