Fayetteville-based e-commerce firm Acumen Brands has received an $83 million-plus investment from New York firm General Atlantic, according to documents filed earlier this week with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

A source familiar with the deal indicated it likely is one of the 10 largest venture capital-backed deals in the U.S. this year.

Acumen CEO John James told Arkansas Business the company is moving from its 50,000-SF warehouse in Fayetteville to a new 200,000 SF facility within a week or so. James also said Acumen, which employs about 150 people and uses about 30 Kiva robots to fill orders, will add dozens of new employees and 20 to 30 robots thanks to the investment.
