Kay Kelley Arnold To Lead LR Airport Commission

The Little Rock Municipal Airport Commission, which governs Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport, has announced officers for 2013.

Kay Kelley Arnold has been elected Chairman, Jesse Mason will serve as Vice Chairman/Treasurer, and Wesley Clark has been chosen Secretary.

Arnold, a licensed attorney, was first appointed to the Airport Commission in 2003. She serves as Vice President of Civic and Social Responsibility for Entergy Corporation, where she leads the Entergy Foundation and giving programs, political action committees, grassroots initiatives, and low-income programs.

Before joining Entergy/Arkansas Power and Light, Arnold was Director of the Department of Arkansas Heritage, a state cabinet position.

She is a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with Bachelor and Master of Art degrees in Communications, in addition to having earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas Bowen School of Law.

Mason joined the Airport Commission in 2010. He is Director of Cooperative Education at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

A former director of the Little Rock City Board, Mason has also served his city in many other capacities including Vice Mayor, Vice Chairman of the Little Rock Port Authority Board, Housing Authority Commissioner, and Chairman of the Little Rock Education Commission.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, formerly AM&N College. Mason completed post-graduate studies at California State University–Hayward.

Clark has been on the Airport Commission since 2010. He serves as Chairman and CEO of Wesley K. Clark & Associates, a strategic consulting firm. Clark retired as a four-star general after 38 years in the United States Army.

A graduate of West Point, the United States Military Academy, Clark completed Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar. He is the recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, as well as five Defense Distinguished Service Medals.

Other Little Rock Municipal Airport Commissioners include: Thomas Schueck, Robert East, Virgil L. Miller, Jr. and Jim Dailey, a former Little Rock Mayor who served as 2012 Chairman of the Airport Commission.

The Commission sets policy for the airport.
