Ayşe Taşpınar, internationally acclaimed pianist and musicologist, will perform a recital on Sunday, November 11th at 8:00 pm in Giffels Auditorium on the University of Arkansas campus. Dr. Taşpınar will play a series of classical pieces by Turkish and Armenian composers that explore syntheses of Western and Middle Eastern classical traditions and common Turkish-Armenian folk melodies. The concert, co-sponsored by the Music Department and the King Fahd Center for Middle East Studies, is free and open to the public. A reception will follow the recital.
