Fort Smith-based Beshears Construction has received three awards for construction projects completed in 2011.

The 188th Fighter Wing Civil Engineering Headquarters of the Arkansas Air National Guard was recently awarded the 2011 Excellence in Construction award for the category of Commercial $5-10 Million by the Associated Builders and Contractors of Arkansas.

Beshears Construction also received two awards for their work at Greenwood High School. The Old Rock Gym received the 2011 Excellence in Construction award for the category of Renovation/Restoration $1-5 Million from the Associated Builders and Contractors of Arkansas, as well as an Excellence in Preservation through Restoration honorable mention award from the Historic Preservation Alliance of Arkansas.

The Old Rock Gym, a load bearing masonry structure, was originally built in 1938. After sitting underutilized for many years, the Greenwood Public Schools along with Beshears Construction and MAHG Architecture, completed a full historic restoration of the original building with updated mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems.

Beshears Construction, founded in 1984, is a full service general contractor specializing in commercial, municipal, private development, LEED Certification, and historic renovations.
