John Brown University in Siloam Springs has brought its undergraduate, graduate and degree completion business programs together under a new College of Business.

Joe Walenciak, who has taught business classes at JBU since 1982, will head the college, the university said in a news release Thursday. He also was promoted to associate dean.

Walenciak received his doctorate in strategic management from the University of Arkansas. He was named SIFE USA Sam Walton Fellow of the Year in 2010, and inducted into the SIFE USA Hall of Fame in 2011.

“John Brown University’s business programs have an excellent reputation for teaching ethical business leadership and providing competitive internships, global experience and practical application of business practices,” Walenciak said. “Establishing the College of Business allows us to enhance our ability to prepare students for success.”

The college offers traditional undergraduate degrees in accounting, business administration, international business, management and marketing, and an MBA with emphases in leadership and ethics, leadership and higher education, international business, and global continuous improvement.

Through its degree completion program, students with previous college credit can earn a bachelor’s degree in organizational management or business administration.

JBU has more than 2,000 students from 42 states and 45 countries.
