The U.S. Small Business Administration – Arkansas District Office has named Arkansas Power Electronics International, Inc. (APEI) as the Arkansas 2012 Small Business Person of the Year – Team.

SBA will present the award at a luncheon on Tuesday, April 24, hosted by the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce and Associated Industries of Arkansas.

APEI’s core business is to develop, manufacture, and market state-of-the art technology in high performance, high power-density, and extreme environment power electronic systems.  APEI’s research and development in the field of silicon-carbide electronic solutions has attracted the interest of numerous major international business organizations.  These include Sandia National Labs and Rohm Semiconductor, one of Asia’s largest manufacturers of electronics components.

In 2009 APEI’s SiC power module won the R&D100 Award which recognized APEI’s technology as one of the top 100 new global technology breakthroughs.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce recently named APEI as one of the top 75 small businesses in the nation.
