It’s been about five years since the construction of RomWoods, the Fayetteville residence of Curt Rom and Melissa Harwood-Rom.

The home, designed by Fayetteville architect Tim Maddox, has drawn recent attention, however, as part of the 2012 American Institute of Architects Center for Emerging Professionals Annual Exhibition. The center exists in part to support architects who have been licensed for less than 10 years, and its annual exhibition is designed to promote their work.

Maddox became licensed in 2006, and said he is flattered to have RomWoods among the 39 works selected. AIA spokesman Scott Frank said more than 150 entries were submitted.

The selected works will be on display at the AIA’s national headquarters in Washington, D.C., through March 31. That timing coincides with the AIA Grassroots 2012 Leadership and Legislative Conference.
