Summit Medical mammography goes digital

Mammography services at Summit Medical Center in Van Buren now offers a new high-tech digital mammography suite.

The new equipment also features Computer-aided detection (CAD), which allows computer software to search for abnormal areas and alert the radiologist to the need for further analysis,” according to a hospital statement.

In addition to new digital mammography equipment, the suite has been remodeled with a “Tuscan” theme, featuring warm colors and inviting artwork. Women are offered refreshments before their test in the private and relaxing waiting area designed for mammography patients only.

The Radiology Department at Summit Medical Center offers a wide range of diagnostic and interventional procedures. Our staff is comprised of board certified, fellowship and subspecialty trained radiologists.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (C.T.), Cardiac Ultrasound, General Diagnostic Ultrasound, Vascular Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, and Diagnostic Imaging are all available for patients at Summit Medical Center with same day appointments in most cases.
