It’s being called the best party in town; you might need to go check it out to see if that is really true. Mardi Gras is bringing New Orleans to Fort Smith. There will be drinks, a Cajun dinner, an auction and lots of dancing with a New Orleans style line band and Mr. Cabbage Head and the Screamin’ Radishes. Tickets are $60 per person or $600 for a table of ten (duh). Event is to benefit the Fort Smith Museum of History and will be held at I.C. Parish Hall. Call 783-7841 for more details.

Do you have more than one girl in your life? And no, I’m not talking to the adulterous sickos out there. This is for those with a special woman and a special daughter. Take your honey out on Valentine’s Day and set aside this day to show your daughter how much you care at the 6th Annual Father and Daughter Dance. There is a fun Under the Sea theme, light refreshments, a memento photo, and lots of memories.  Held at the River Park Pavilion. Gospel Fest 2012 is a Concert for the Ages. Be blown away by area choirs and soloists groovin’ you with everything from southern gospel to classic hymns. Presented by the UAFS Academy of Arts, but held at Harvest Time Church. Tickets are $10 and on sale at Solid Rock, Bedford Camera and Video, UAFS Box Office and area churches.
