Another downtown landmark in Fayetteville is getting a face lift. Dickson Street Liquor store owner William Waite will add 2,000 square feet to the historic building that has been its home since 1964.

The store is located at 241 W. Dickson St. and was originally a one pump Conoco gas station and garage dating back to 1936.

"With the expansion our No. 1 concern was with keeping the historical integrity of the original structure,"  Waite said. " The additional space will allow us to bring a greater variety of wine, spirits and beer to our patrons. Our wine selection will more than double.”

The addition is slated for completion late this summer.
